Bio and Film Music

LOLITA DEL PINO

I am looking for playful and innovative artistic creation, frompushing the boundaries of traditional and modern sounds.

Multidisciplinary artist, I am passionate about the various genres of music ranging from classical to contemporary, interactive or electro-acoustic music.

Franco-Australian, born in the south of France, I discovered the piano at the age of six.
After having completed a musical course at the conservatories of Nîmes and then Avignon, I continued my studies with a bachelor's degree in composition at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music (Sydney University). I had the opportunity to be under the direction of composers like Felicity Wilcox, Ben Carey and Michael Smetanin.

They gave me special attention on the importance of the sound simplicity of the instrumentation for a better reception of emotional load or the importance of the sound spectrum offering originality on the orchestral textures but also on the colors. From this experience, I developed a musical ear focused on sounds and music from around the world. Like, electronic, and classical music containing ethnic or traditional components. This is how my sound universe began to develop.

Following this license, I returned to France to finalize my studies with a Master of Composition for the image (Musiques Appliqués Aux Arts Visuels - MAAAV), under the direction of composers such as Laetitia Pansannel-Garric and Jean-Marc Serre The subject of my thesis being focused on collective creativity, is a literary visualization of my relational experiences with the technical teams of the cinema. I had the opportunity to work in partnership with animation schools like LISAA (Paris), ESMA (Montpellier), MOPA (Arles), EVC (Bordeaux) or even BELLECOUR (Lyon). my sound universe.

Influenced by popular, classical and avant-garde music, Lolita is endowed with emotional creativity. She builds a unique musical universe away from current trends.

Lolita seeks to explore all artistic musical registers that range from spiritual depth to a light and airy atmosphere, and to develop contrasts and nuances with force in her creations.

FILM MUSIC

2021 TRIO Laureate - Film Music residency, Maison de Film Paris

My philosophy on film music is built on collective creativity. Composer and artist-performer of Franco-Australian origin, I discovered a passion for film music during my composition license. *

Seeking to explore all my musical registers which range from spiritual depth to a light and airy atmosphere, my approach aims to offer directors and screenwriters the power to accentuate the character but also the soul of the film by a choice of 'thoughtful instrumentation but also through a deep search for original sounds. This collective creativity has given rise to short film projects that have been the subject of several official festival selections, notably for the short film "Les Chaussures de Louis" 2020, selected by several festivals such as the Clermont-Ferrand International Short Film Festival or the 2019 short film “Exuvie”, which was selected at the Rennes National Animation Film Festival in 2020.
